NEW CRIBS!
We are proud to say that we have new cribs that meet the new federal safety guidelines! The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) approved new mandatory standards for full-size and non-full size baby cribs. All child care providers must replace all cribs not meeting the new standards by December 2012. We didn't want to wait until the end of the year. We care about the safety of our infants and are happy that we have taken further steps and measures to insure their safety.Keeping baby safe at home~Are you wondering if your infant/toddlers crib meets the guidelines?
According to the CPSC, all cribs made prior to July 2010 will not meet
the new standards. Further, all stackable cribs will not meet the new
standards. Non-drop side and non-stackable cribs manufactured between
July 2010 and June 2011 may meet the new standards. To determine if the
crib meets the new standards, contact the manufacturer or retailer to obtain a
Certificate of Compliance (COC).
The COC must: • Describe the product.
• Give name, full mailing address and telephone number for importer or
domestic manufacturer.
• Identify the rule for which it complies (16 CFR 1219, the new federal
standard for full-size cribs or with 16 CFR 1220, the new federal
standard for non-full-size cribs).
• Give name, full mailing address, email address and telephone number
for the records keeper and location of testing lab.
• Give date and location of manufacture and testing.
To determine when your crib was manufactured, check the crib. All cribs must
have their date of manufacture permanently affixed to the crib.
